My LOTROniac Sign is Champion! Champion...the Hard Tack Ration
With an unquenchable thirst for blood, you pummel your enemies with an impressive amount of DPS. You Champions are often labeled killing machines, and rightfully so, even if the more reserved types prefer to classify you as heroes. You are excellent warriors and strong allies to fight alongside. Others admire your determination and dedication in battle, even though some view you as an "easy" class or LOTROniac Sign. Since that initial "first impression," things have changed, and you're probably a bit deeper and more complex than others realize. Yes, you still love spilling blood and creating organ donors of your enemies through the use of sheer power and might as you kill them, but there's more to you than just the methodical warrior strictly into head-bashing, bruising, bleeding, mutilation, dismemberment and pulling spider eyes out of their sockets. As threatening an adversary as you may be, you must be careful, for if you maintain a fervent stance for too long in certain situations, it can be extremely detrimental to your health! Although fervour is a definite asset to your damage output and this stance also helps you gain points in your fervour pool (for certain skill usage); it can be dangerous if you're functioning as a tank with multiple enemies attacking you, since it doesn't allow you to block, parry or evade. It is sometimes best to use this skill for temporary aid, turning it off before it causes loss of life...especially if you're uninsured, as you most likely are! As Champions age, you may earn the rights to use a glory stance. This stance is for "off-tanking," when greater power and fervour regeneration is more important to you than damage output. Experience, however, shows that most of you still prefer fervour over glory...especially when soloing, as DPS is the most vital to you. However, when grouping, you may prefer to switch between glory and fervour for a better overall performance and versatility in battle. (Truth be told, we know you're not in it for the glory. True Champions are self-less and prefer honor, justice and dignity above all...not that there's anything wrong with thanks, appreciation and the occasional kiss on the cheek.) On your bad days, which hopefully were more frequent in your youth than they are now, your AoE tends to break a Lore-master's "mez" and you tend to pull mobs when others you're fellowed with aren't ready. This likely caused some other problems, including the untimely passing of a few fellow comrades. However, when you're on, you're on! A good Champion excels at DPS, while a great Champ does that and uses a range of other abilities on the battlegrounds. A great Champion can taunt, knows when to or not to use AoE and can even survive in the role of off-tank. You are best with toe-to-toe DPS, but you also have the ability to lure enemies to you with a ranged attack. When up close, you have your choice of dual- or single-wield weapons, and as you mature, you also earn the right to carry a heavy shield. Once you're able to wear heavy armor, you're a decent stunt-double when no Guardian is available to tank. You enjoy battle that is action-packed, high energy and allows you the opportunity to showcase a variety of attack modes and types. When dread and doom are near, you taunt your enemies with a Champion's Challenge, taking the heat off of another fellow member...possibly saving his/her life in the process! (It isn't the first time you saved a life, nor will it be the last.) Keep in mind, however, that not everyone wants you to fight their battles for them. As hard as it is for a Champion to fight the urge to "champion" others, sometimes you must hold back. Sometimes, you have to let others fight their own battles and "die with dignity," even when you know you could have saved them. In their next lives, they may be more receptive to you because you respected their wishes, even if it might have made you feel as if you assisted in more than a few suicides. Soon enough, you'll find another way to champion a cause or atone yourself. You're a firm believer that striking works, even though you've never belonged to a union. Savage Strikes. Brutal Strikes. Relentless Strikes. Swift Strikes. Deadly Strikes. Lightning may only strike once in the same spot, but not you. You'll strike as much as it takes for as long as it takes, though you also enjoy mixing up your battle tactics a bit with wild attacks and even an exchange of blows. When the situation calls for it, you will also turn to your AoE skills, even if it means you have to fight dirty! A mud bath, after all, can be a greatly invigorating facial, even for the toughest, most masculine Champion. On the social scene, you're a whiz but it's not for charm, social grace or witty repartee. Remember? Everyone thinks you're "easy." In some ways, you just might be...but even so, you're not that easy! At least, not since you've been working on gaining the type of respectable reputation that goes along with being a Champion. (You're a born-again v-card holder. That's your story and you're sticking to it...even if you have to be "born-again" tomorrow morning.) Easy or not, still many flock to you, knowing you "champion" yours and others' rights and causes, not to mention you've saved many a damsel or a dude in distress! You're strong and powerful, yet gentle caring and sensitive to others' feelings and needs as well as your own --- especially when you take a fervent stance, letting your guard down in private. Remember, doing so will forbid you from evading, parrying and blocking an advance, but that can work to your advantage when there's nothing you want more than to surrender in someone's warm embrace. As an almost immortal hero to others, the weakness or humanity in you may feel a burden at times, but it isn't. Actually, it makes you the mysterious, brooding, troubled but exciting stranger others find all the more attractive and intriguing. And for those that have befriended you, they know they're fortunate to have you in their corners...defending, aiding and championing them as you feel necessary. Never does a friend of yours ever feel alone or abandoned. You're a true friend, loyal, caring and just. If ever a problem arises, they know you can be counted upon to be there...even if it's a no-win situation. A Champion never gives up, even as others fall all around you. Hobbies you enjoy most include volunteering at the local food shelter, being a volunteer firefighter/rescue worker and speaking at schools to help keep kids off pipe-weed. (Of course, that last one is something you might be obligated to do for community service from a prior offense involving illegal farming of pipe-weed.) You also enjoy the occasional bubble bath and body massage while working on a solution to bring world peace to Middle Earth!
