Focus on the “fluff” – the trivial, the
meaningless, the content-free.

“Shake hands”
with the popular trolls.
Express NO
opinions unless it’s about something like:
A)
Coffee/Caffeine
B) Should
<Female Troll A> wear a booby dress or stick to skimpy swimwear and
nothing else unless it’s a sexy tattoo on her ankle?
C) Buff or not
buff?
“^” your Post

Don’t feed the
trolls before 3am, during lunch or dinner time.
*Bump* as many
threads as you can without actually saying anything. If you say something
(beyond *bump*, *wave*, etc.), you could be misunderstood and that could
be detrimental to your standings in the Spam “Poll” Ratings.

If you have
special privileges on a board like poll-making, post a completely
meaningless poll and further advertise campaign by posting a picture/link
of you or your running mate in clothing that covers just enough so you
won’t get in trouble…yet not too much that you won’t have at least 5 or 6
trollophiles watching & drooling!
Pop popcorn and
pass it around.
Reply on a
discussion, drama or debate thread…slyly making your presence known
without actually stating anything relating to the topic. (Just another way
to get your name out there. Most won’t notice you actually didn’t
say anything. They’ll just notice you posted there.)
Give something
away or make a trade deal with someone you know will post about your
magnanimous deed. Free advertising!
*Bump* Post
Count. *shake booty*
RP the role of
Referee if people on your “fluff” thread get ugly – this will
showcase your neutrality and social skills.
Feign interest
in others’ revivals, group activities and gatherings, etc.…makes one look
“politically correct” and interested in the board community.
“Shake hands”
with the popular trolls again; then with remaining time, begin
“shaking hands” with the rising star trolls.
Only reply to
n00b posters if the Ratings Polls show your campaign is floundering
somehow.
Pop more popcorn
to share and pass around. Trolls are hungry critters!
Be “all talk and
no action.”
“Back to #1”
your Post Count *devilishly cunning grin*
Did I miss
anything? Feel free to add your input or even just "lol" so I know you're
there. *wink*
A later addition by author (expanding upon another’s
idea that often saying “grats” or congratulations to others would aid in
a successful board campaign):
If it's a grats to someone else thread
that you started, also grat yourself for your deeds. It's good
politics. Focuses on someone else, and yet brings it back to you to remind
people what a nice little board persona you are! Subtle, too...since you
started it by grats or thanks to someone else! Ah, the political
craftiness!
On a grats
thread started by someone else to someone else, if someone that you've
given stuff to replies...plug your good deed whether you mention it
directly or hint at it. It's good politics and a way to steer the
conversation to you! After all, remember, you're always campaigning!
*smiles, waves and nods*
Mention the awesome items you have,
whether real life or virtual items...on separate message threads or all at
once. Separately, of course, would be best as it gives you that much more
"mileage"/posts. It's like multiple radio "spots" of promotion rather than
one long promo. The more you repeat your name and your mantra to peeps,
the more they'll think of you each time they vote (er, reply)!
Or, even simply
broadcast how many uber things you have. People will think you *must* be
something special to have all that! Once again, it gets your name "out
there" and people will grat you in any of the above instances. It's an
easy +1 to your post count, kinda like practice voting.
*wink*
And remember,
the above are indicators of your financial prowess & smarts, material
wealth and or just good business practices in knowing what to invest
in and how to go about accomplishing your goals. Once in office, things
may change, but it's all about you right now, so *shrug*...
Add as many people to a “friends” list
or its equivalent as you can, especially the ones asking for “stalkers”
that you think will add you to their friends’ lists once you've added them
to yours. It's the whole "you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours"
concept...only it's all about stalking and being stalked!
After all, it's
just more free publicity and free "ad" space! *satisfied
grin* Not to
mention, you'll most likely rise in the spammer’s "Poll" Ratings.
w00t...and you didn't even have to shake any hands! Ah, the sweetest
success!!!
