Truth in Advertising...
Truth in advertising...is it some kind of marketing genius the rest of us can't understand or do they really think the public is so "simple" or stupid that we need them to spell it out for us?
It's not exactly marketing genius. I mean, if that's worthy of package advertising, almost anyone could go into advertising. Using the above example of marketing, we don't need to be creative...just obvious. Apparently, there's a silent syllable in "advertising" of which most of us are not aware.
Is there a reason for ad-duh-vertising? Should there be more...or less "duh"? And an even greater question: How well does or doesn't "duh" translate to the general public in advertising?
Sometimes, "duh" is really NOT a good thing, nor will it entice you to "buy" that product or that 'come on.' For instance, here's some ad-duh-vertising that may not be to your benefit:
Male on a dating video: I'm 5'10" and am 400 pounds. No, I'm not overweight. I'm just twice the man that a 200 pound man is!
